Am I eligible to use Health Services?
All full time students are billed the Health Fee which entitles you to use Health Services. Click here for our hours of service.
Can I get a note for missed classes?
We do not give notes for missed classes unless the situation is serious enough for you to be out of class for a period of time. We can give you an appointment card with the date and time of the appointment to give to your professor. Also, your professor can call Health Services to verify that you were seen here.
How can I have information from another facility transferred to Health Services or information transferred from Health Services to another facility?
A release form is required to be filled out for any and all information you wish to be released (with the exception of immunization records.) Release forms both from somewhere else to U.R.I. Health Services or from U.R.I. Health Services to somewhere else are available on line at http://health.uri.edu/records.php.
How do I get an appointment if I feel ill?
If you are ill and wish to be seen, please call (401)874-2675 and a nurse will triage you into an appointment according to the urgency of the illness .
When can I make an appointment without speaking to a nurse?
If you need an appointment for an immunization, allergy shot, wart removal or a general physical, call (401)874-4751 to reach the appointment desk.
How do I make an appointment with a specialist (specialists include Dermatology, Internal Medicine, Orthopedics, Surgery and Psychiatry)?
If you wish an appointment with a specialist, you will need to be seen by one of the doctors on staff in order to be referred into a specialty clinic. Call the triage nurse at (401)874-2675 and she will make the appropriate appointment.
How do I get an appointment with the Psychiatrist?
Call the Counseling Center at (401)874-2288.
Can I get an outside prescription filled at Health Services?
Yes. Simply take the prescription to Health Services and present it at the front desk or have the pharmacist phone it in to (401)874-4775.
How do I transfer a prescription from my pharmacy at home?
Have your pharmacy at home call in the prescription to Health Services' pharmacy at (401)874-4775
